Academic degree Degree in Medicine and Surgery (110/110 summa cum laude) – University of Pavia (1985). Specialist in Occupational Medicine (50/50 summa cum laude) – University of Pavia (1989).
Present position: since 2000, in Pavia: Full Professor of Occupational Medicine, Director of the Specialization School in Occupational Medicine, and of the Occupational Medicine Unit of the Maugeri Scientific Clinical Institutes.
He teaches Occupational Medicine in the MD English course, and in several other degree, specialization, and master.
Member of the Italian Society of Occupational Medicine, and of the Italian Society of Toxicology. Component of the editorial board of the Giornale Italiano di Medicina del Lavoro ed Ergonomia (Italian Journal of Occupational Medicine and Ergonomics). Expert witness and consultant in several judicial (penal and civil) proceedings.
Former referent of ministerial research projects, currently author of more than 360 scientific publications (journal papers, monographs, book chapters, conference proceedings, abstracts, scientific divulgation articles).
The clinical and research activity encompasses occupational and environmental toxicology, asbestos-related diseases, occupational musculo-skeletal disorders, work stress, work resumption after injury or cardiopathy.
