HUMOUR

ProfessorAlessio Toraldo

While Humor is a largely studied phenomenon, there is currently little or no knowledge as to the cognitive underpinnings of such a mental function. There are several theories about why a pun or a joke is funny, but these are seldom involved in classical cognitive psychology experiments. The purpose of this project is to fill this gap by deriving, and testing, predictions by various Humor theories in a set of experiments in which participants are asked to mentally process jokes.
