NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS

ProfessorAlessio Toraldo

The author is currently involved in a series of studies investigating the methods of neuropsychological diagnosis in clinical (and experimental) settings. He is following up on extensive work on the indexes that are recommended to diagnose neglect (http://psicologia.unipv.it/toraldo/mean-position-of-hits.htm) and other syndromes (e.g. developmental dyslexia, http://psicologia.unipv.it/toraldo/time-error-rate-diagnosis.htm; executive deficits http://psicologia.unipv.it/toraldo/speed-accuracy-diagnosis-Tower-of-London.htm, etc.). The project aims, more generally, at developing statistical methods that are less prone to criticisms related to the reproducibility/credibility crisis in (neuro)psychology and science in general, by using (e.g.) Information Criteria within a Bayesian approach.
