Our previous research underlined the importance of evaluating intellectual functioning in intervention studies in ASD, since high and low functioning patients have different needs and different response to treatments. The aim is thus to evaluate the efficacy of pharmacological interventions in ASD, with separate analysis dedicated to low functioning and high functioning patients. The primary analysis will focus on core symptoms of ASD, when proper outcome measures are used, with secondary analysis focusing on other outcome measures mostly used in this field of research.
